Teaching Experience

I began my teaching experience at Van Buren Middle School.  I was in the intern program called SIP (Secondary Intern Program).  The program was for people of any age who already had a degree that wasn't in teaching but who wanted to become teachers in a certain field.  At the same time I was completing my licensure requirements for New Mexico, I was also working on my bilingual certification.  I achieved bilingual certification the summer after finishing my intern year at Van Buren.  I was then hired at Jefferson Middle School to teach English language arts and Spanish for bilinguals for 7th and 8th graders.  Click here to learn more about Van Buren Middle School!
